Daniel J. Brown, B.S., C.Q.A.
Dan Brown has been a quality professional for over twenty-five (25) years in a variety of industries, including
chemicals, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, nuclear suppliers, sales incentives, warehousing/distribution, and
machinery rebuilding/repair. He has held a variety of positions, starting with Quality Control Laboratory
Technician and progressing to Quality Assurance Coordinator, Quality Assurance Manager, Operations
Manager, Quality Systems Auditor and Management Representative for Quality.
Areas of professional competence include:
Innovation, Supplier Management, Food Safety, Food Security, Quality Auditing, ISO 9001, Drug and Device
GMPs, QS-9000, ISO 13485, ISO 14001, ISO 14971, ISO 22000, Quality Operating Systems (QOS), Reliability

Mr. Brown is the ISO 13485 Registration Services Manager for Eagle Registrations Inc. and the Medical Device
Industry Spokesman for the American Society for Quality, Media Relations Team.
Mr. Brown holds a Bachelor of Science in biology from Aurora University and a Certificate in Quality
Management in Manufacturing from DePaul University. He has completed the ISO 9001 and 13485 Lead
Auditor Certification Workshops from Stat-A-Matrix Institute and the FSSC/ISO 22000 Lead Auditor Certification
Workshop from AQS Performance.
He has been a member of the American Society for Quality since 1987, a Senior Member of ASQ since 1993,
and an ASQ Certified Quality Auditor since 1989. He has also held numerous positions on the Board for the
Chicago Section, ASQ, presently (2009-11) Section Chair. He was previously Vice-Chair of Section Affairs,
Vice-Chair of Membership, Vice-Chair of Programs, and Section Secretary. He has also been the Chair of the
Northern Illinois Quality Conference since 2008. Dan Brown is the 2008 ASQ Chicago Section, Joe Lisy
Awardee for service to the section.
Dan is also an instructor for the Training Institute of the Chicago Section, ASQ and a Competent Toastmaster in
Toastmasters International.
